Day 1: Its a great day to travel!

Okay!
After 3 days in China, I’m finally gonna blog!!!
And I’ll start with the adventure – before the adventure!

Basically I spent Sunday packing up my luggage!
My parents were nagging here and there about the dos and don’ts over there
And gets me nervous too
After all, it’s my first time away for so long – without them!
After some mix ups here and there, I finally got the luggage all done – except for my toothbrush which I was going to use the next morning!

The next day, I lugged that supposed 17 kilos worth of luggage over to NP via cab, which kindly charged me baggage charge, and stored it over at my NYAA Clubhouse! Then I headed over for the 10am Dip+ classes over at LSCT!

Quite a busy day I should say, I had two meetings after that, as well as some slack time. That took up the entire afternoon and all the way till 9pm!

Went over to grab my luggage and brought it over to KAP, where I had dinner with the LSCT Main Committee people, and went over to Clementi MRT station and went over to Pasir Ris with Darryl… and that’s where my luggage posed a huge problem! Heaving it up the bus and as it has no wheel locks and I have to manually stop it from rolling all over the place >.< href="http://s512.photobucket.com/albums/t330/chenwenliang_91/?action=view&current=P9010004.jpg" target="_blank">Photobucket
Here’s my boarding pass, taking the China Southern airlines!

The super heavy luggage of mine, 24.6 kg!

Bye bye luggage :P

After going through the gate, we were rushing over to the plane. Had a bit of trouble cause my passport’s photo is from my P6, which doesn’t really look like me at all ><>< href="http://s512.photobucket.com/albums/t330/chenwenliang_91/?action=view&current=P9010008.jpg" target="_blank">Photobucket

My hand carry bag!

We then went out in search of lunch! Walked in great circles in our attempt to find McDonalds =.=
Had a chicken burger… had a rather hard time trying to order =.= And like we were told, some of the cashers will actually check the 100 RMB notes rather closely!

When I peered into the kitchen itself… I was rather shocked at how they prepare the French fries >< href="http://s512.photobucket.com/albums/t330/chenwenliang_91/?action=view&current=P9010019.jpg" target="_blank">Photobucket

We found Guardian! Or mannings, in this case :P

The China flag in the airport itself!

Headed over to our next plane at 1730, had a body check again, but this time, it’s even stricter! The officer poked me everywhere with the metal detector and felt me up and down >< href="http://s512.photobucket.com/albums/t330/chenwenliang_91/?action=view&current=P9010036.jpg" target="_blank">Photobucket

Smoking room???

After touchdown, had another close to two hours bus ride over to WUST! There were some people on the bus who were making a great ruckus, making it hard for me to sleep. Yes, I’ve been sleeping almost every travelling trip :P

Upon reaching the campus, we went into our bunks to put our things, and went over to eat dinner over at the canteen. Went up a spiral staircase, then reached a restaurant! There was a table just for Muslims! The food was really… not my type >< href="http://s512.photobucket.com/albums/t330/chenwenliang_91/?action=view&current=P9010040.jpg" target="_blank">Photobucket
Here it is…

50 RMB for the WUST card, which is something like a cash card just within WUST, and 20 RMB for the horrid dinner ._.

Headed back to our bunk! Basically, I’m in the same bunk as my Year 1 classmate, Yee Tat, and we were the lucky ones that have the bunk to just the 2 of us! As we have only 8 guys here, we are split into 3 3 2 groups! Haha! To put things simply, the bunk was a great big shock.

The layer of dust, the super hard bed, the dirty sink! Not forgetting the most horrible thing there… THE TOILET!

Consisting of one hole and four walls, that’s our toilet!
Images of it are currently unavailable as I was too appalled at the sight of it.
So I went back on my bed, and was knocked unconscious :P

Yeah like real, it’s just that it was too “decorated” by me and Yee Tat in the attempt to make it more… usable, so I don’t have a photo of its original state! Haha

There wasn’t internet either! As there are no wires and router for it =.=
Had a little bit of trouble with the plugs too. Apparently, the ones my dad used for the past few years were a bit… faulty, so I needed to adjust it a lot just to use it. The final modification? I reversed the entire plug! :X

Stayed up for awhile, and then slept early…

Btw! Sorry about the photos being half cropped and stuff
Still learning how to upload photos from photobucket which seems alot faster and more effective :X
The next few shouldn't have this problem anymore! :X

===============================================
So what have I learnt?

-China probably names some brands differently from us, such as Guardian and Mannings
-They prefer their food to taste stronger
-What that meants a short distance to them may not always be so to us
-They have a much different sense of cleanliness and hygiene
